San Luis Potosí to Illinois

A message from the founder
I come from a family that dedicated themselves to the grocery business. I came from San Luis Potosí, Mexico and arrived in the United States at fifteen. My first job was as a waitress, and that is where I discovered what I wanted to do one day.
I sold that first place in 1991 to open Buenas Nachos. We recently celebrated 30+ years in Frankfort, and I want to thank all of the loyal customers who have made my business possible. Thank you all very, very much.

The long way here
Alvia arrives in the United States at fifteen, from a family in the grocery business.
After years waiting tables, she takes the risk and opens a place of her own.
She sells the first restaurant and opens Buenas Nachos on La Grange Road in Frankfort.
Still family owned, still the same recipes, and a dining room full of regulars who order without looking at the board.
How we cook
No imitation garlic, onion, egg, vanilla or sour cream. It costs more and it takes longer, and it is the only reason the food tastes like home.
The real thing, never an imitation.
For every breakfast plate, served all day.
Never an imitation substitute.
Real vanilla only — no imitation extract.
Dine in, carry out, or let us cater the whole party. Route 45, half a block north of Route 30.
